Book Reviews of Cell: A Novel

Book Review: just terrible
Summary: 1 Stars

this book was bad from the start. he gives way too many details about unimportant things, and not nearly enough info on the stuff we all wanted to know. there were countless times when you'd read a paragraph and think, "wow, that doesn't add to the story at all."

almost every time someone says something, he follows it up with 2-3 sentences that pretty much amount to: "he thought about saying this, but then he thought better of it."

if you take out everything in this book that is pointless and adds nothing to the story, you'd lose about 100 pages. and you still would have to add another 100 to include the info that is never answered in the book. for a man that has been widely criticized for being long-winded, it's surprising he doesn't include answers to the mysteries in the book. it's a short and yet, long-winded novel.

i woudln't recommend it to anyone.

Book Review: original king
Summary: 5 Stars

I loved this book it was classic King. I have had a hard time reading his new books, but this one was scary and I could not put it down. I am hoping liseys story is as good.

Book Review: welcome back, Stephen King!
Summary: 4 Stars

Finally, Stephen King gets back to his roots! No attempts at psychological horror here, or introspection and analysis. Back to straight-up in-your-face terror, with creepiness and blood practically from page one. As always, King has trouble with the ending, but not as badly as some others. All in all, a good scary read of the likes we haven't seen from him in a while.

Book Review: well...it is Stephen King.
Summary: 4 Stars

i can deffinately see how this could evolve into a "hate it or love it" story. if you are not a King fan, i would not suggest reading this book, like in many other comments, its not his best. it is quite gory, but hey...it is Stephen King. the ending is not-so-great. however i was sucked into the horrifying, yet mystical, ever-changing plot that has been uniquly created - causing me to really look forward to the conclusion. king has such a great way of brining back evens that happent earlier in the plot, really making the story come alive. i love the "oh my gosh" moments that make me re-read the whole page just to make sure what i just read really happent. although it is some-what slow and slightly over-anilyzed. i would deffinately suggest this book. :]

OH, and did anyone else come VERY close to crying on pages 232-235?!? :'[
