I recently purchased this book and have not had time to read it, just browse the pictures, this is also why I rated it four instead of five stars. I found Mrs. Moss's styling to be impeccable, although, in some areas, a bit fussy for me.
I am a retiree on a fixed income and likely could not afford her style. However, I draw great inspiration from her. She raises the bar. Isn't that what we should all aspire too? If she were just a run of the mill designer, would anyone want to purchase her book?
I have landed some great finds, going to local auctions in my area. I have also developed good relationships with shop owners to the degree that they allow me to put things in layaway. This way, I can get nice things at an affordable price. Consider this, if you are decorating in a classic style, the pieces that you spend heavily for, will be with you for a life time.
I am just your average Josephine, but I think my place looks damned good. I know that based on exposing myself to nice things and owning books such as this, actually allow the reader the inside track on design concepts.

This is a wonderful book for design mavens like myself. Lots of eye candy for inspiration. Even though most of the decor is "over the top", I still never cease to discover lots of very proactical ideas for my home and for my table.
A lovely book for both the table and for the decorator's library.
