As far as I am aware, this is the first time an autobiography of sorts has been written in prose. Jewel's words are very good at describing the atmosphere of a situation and how she feels, this allows all the images to be projected into the imagination very well. I feel perhaps though that Jewel is well aware that Chasing the Dawn will sell plainly due to her name and not the content, this book probably would not sell in the same kind of numbers if it had been anyone else.All the same, Jewel has graced us with her literature once again. I know it will not make the equivalent number of sales in the UK as it will in the USA, but at the end of the day, and maybe in years to come, it is bound to be a classic!
If you are a book collector or a Jewel fan I would buy "Chasing Down the Dawn" whilst the first editions are still hot off the press!
