Chinese Handcuffs

This book is appropriate for teenagers because there is some sexual things in this book. After I was done reading Chinese Handcuffs, I found the book to be very interesting and also very dramatic in many ways. Throughout this book I learned that you can't just trust any family member that is new to you. However, when reading this I was very Confused numerous times because in one chapter the book could be in Dillions point of view then in the exact next chapter the book would be in Jennifers point of view, then it was new plots and new scenes. they switched of alot in each chapter which confused me. I gained a new perspective on this novel because I can tell how teenagers have to go tyhrough some reaaly tough times tring to get along with their parents. also it shows the relationshiups and struggles that they have to face with a loss. the book was alright until the middle when they started telling how Jennifer was being molested by her and later in by her stepdad. At the time of all this happeniung Jennifer was only 9 or 10 years old. Dillion who is the main character dealt many things including witnessing his brothers suicide, having to deal with his brothers girlfriend, her having a baby and not if his deceased brother was the father. Dillion akso faced every teenage problem, the girl he liked who was Jennifer. overall I enjoyed reading this novel.

Dillon can't keep running from these problems and he knows it. With the help of Jennifer's basketball coach and his father, Dillon learns to accept his problems and take responsibility for the only thing he can control - himself.

Book Review: Low quality literature
Summary: 1 Stars

This is NOT a book for teens or anyone who likes good literature. The subjects treated on this book are for mature audiences, not 16 year-olds who are still developing emotionally. The ALA, librarians and teachers are pushing low quality literature and pornography to children--right under their parents' noses--instead of the Classics. Shame on teachers and librarians.

Book Review: One of My Favorites
Summary: 5 Stars

I read this book for the first time in 7th grade and now, as a freshman, I can still say it is one of my favorities. It's basically about these two teenagers: Jennifer and Dillion who both come from different circumstances and have had their share of troubles along the way. Jennifer is the star of her high school basketball team who is covering a secret that she has kept in for years. Dillion is still grieving over the loss of his brother who committed suicide and dealing with his bad-boy image that he has acquired over the years by competing in Iron-Man competitions. Together, they need each other in order to piece together the very jagged pieces of their lives.

This novel is written with a uniqueness all its own and the sarcastic humor will have you laughing even though you don't think you should be. Definitely a must-read for all teens.
