This is the first book I have purchased - and read - written by a woman. I had a flight from Indianapolis to Phoenix and wanted something to read. A female customer at one of the bookstores in the terminal shoved this book in my face and said, "Buy this, it is a very good book". Rather than tell her the truth, I bought it and completed it as we landed in Phoenix. This author managed to turn my head and my heart. What a beautiful story. There is much more to this book than horses. I have purchased several copies to give to friends of mine. I have also suggested to the bookstores I frequent that they showcase this book. I hope other readers will do the same. This author needs to keep on truckin'!

Two days ago I was in the Denver airport and purchased this paperback..."Chosen by a Horse". For two nights, I simply could not put it down. I gave myself a very sweet morsel of life-enrichment with the awe-inspiring story of Lay Me Down, Hotshot, and Susan Richards. I love them all in such a real, knowing way. What a powerful, attention-grabbing story. I will never forget this beautiful well-written, much-loved memoir of the unflinching love between horse and owner. I will carry its message in my heart of hearts...always! I only hope horses go to Heaven because I want the opportunity to know and love the gentle-spirited Lay Me Down someday...actually I love her already.

The book started off with a lot happening but quickly turned into an "okay" read. I was disappointed. It was like reading the life of a woman that owns a horse. (Live it, done it). It was an easy read though. Good book just needed more action or drama. Cried at the end.
