I picked this book up in LGA airport on our way back from Brazil just because I liked the cover. I've loved horses since I was a kid but never had one. How like our relationship with Chirst - His gentle, loving nature rescues us and gives us hope. He teaches us how to embrace the joys of life despite the rough road we sometimes have to endure.

A beautiful, inspiring book! This is definitely one of my all time favorite books now. A MUST READ for any animal lover. Lay Me Down and Hotshot is one of the finest love stories, and Lay Me Down is one of the finest, most devoted animals to have ever entered the book world. I couldn't put it down, though I dreaded and knew how this book would end. Proof that animals are often finer beings than those of us in the human world.Book Review: Chosen by a Horse

As a horse lover/owner and a bereavement facilitator I bought this book as a perfect combination for myself, and to excerpt for my group, after friends in England sent me an excerpt of it from their local paper. Emailed the British company to purchase it and was surprised to discover it was published here and written by someone living upstate, not far from where my sister had a home (I'm a New Yorker myself) and found it at Amazon!
