St. Josemaria Escriva was one of those rare individuals with the uncanny ability to give us hope in humanity while challenging us to do better. Never was his preaching focused on our failures - always they were focused on what God had already accomplished in us and the potential for what more he can accomplish when we submit to his instruction. These homilies are summed up best in Josemaria's own words, "How I wish your bearing and conversation were such that, on seeing or hearing you, people would say: This man reads the life of Jesus Christ."
The homily entitled, "The Great Unknown," is alone worth the cost of the book. The small pocket format of this book makes it one more in a series of devotional tools to keep handy and ready to meditate upon at every spare moment. Keep the words of this great teacher and lover of men's souls close to you for a reminder of God's love and expectations along with the hope in things not yet seen.
