Book Reviews of Circle of FriendsBook Review: A heart warming tale of university, friends and life!! Summary: 5 Stars
This book was a page turner, start to finish. I was a little hesitant when my sister thrust it into my hand, but the story took me away to small town Ireland, and before I knew it, I had gone through heartbreak, experience, and growing up with main character Benny and her friends. Benny, a chubby warm and friendly girl is so real that you sympathize with and understand her perfectly. The book follows her life, from elementary school down the road, to university in Dublin. Binchy develops the characters extremely well, to the point where you feel a part of the string of young people who go to dances and classes. The romance aspect of the book is wonderful: It`s the idea of the ugly duckling (Benny) who`s noticed by the handsome prince charming (Jack) and is carried away by his true love for her. But there is a bittersweet edge to the romance, and it illustrates perfectly how we all learn from our mistakes, whether they be in love or friendship. As you can prob! ably tell, I adored this book- and highly recommend it to anyone, young and old. Reading it after my first year of university made me realize the meaning behind having a "circle of friends" and all that goes along with it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!!
Book Review: A most lovely book about life, love and betrayal. Summary: 5 Stars
A wonderful story about Benny Hogan and Eve Malone, two girls from Knockglen who met with Jack Foley (a handsome doctor's son) and the lovely Nan Mahon. The four of them became friends, infact Benny and Jack soon became lovers. Benny's dream however was shattered when she realized Jack had an affair with Nan. Unkown to Jack, the baby she was about to have wasn't his, it was belong to Simon Westward, Eve's cousin.

I absolutley loved this book. Maeve Binchy captured the essence of friendship in vivid detail. The characters were very life-like and easy to relate to. I could not put this book down. You will fly through the pages and when you get to the end it leaves you wishing that the story would continue forever. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good book to curl up with on a rainy day.
