Book Review: A rollercoaster of emotions that leaves you wishing for more
Summary: 5 Stars

Before reading this novel, I watched the movie. I ordinarily try to do just the opposite. I found that I enjoyed the book more than the movie. The ending of the story in the book is empowering for women and leaves you with something to think about, not just the happy ending we all crave to witness on the big screen. Binchy's characters are alive and vibrant throughout the plot, causing the reader to experience true feelings towards them. I believe that there is a bit of Nan, Eve, Benny and even Sean in all of us. These characters force one to recognize that. Perhaps Binchy's story forces a subcouncious moral into the reader's mind. All in all, I recommend this book to anyone who appreciates love and friendship.

Book Review: Absolutely Wonderful!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is, altogether, one of the best books that I have ever read! Her characters are written about so vividly and are ones that have features that anyone can relate to (e.g. Eve's temper, Benny's warm disposition, Aidan's quirkiness, Mother Francis' kind soul). If you ever have a chance to read this wonderful novel, don't pass it up. When you read the pages, you certainly feel like you belong to a loving circle of friends.

Book Review: Absolutely based on real people...for once.
Summary: 5 Stars

THis book is the most incredible book Binchy has ever written. I found myself screaming at Jack and hating Nan more than my ex boyfriend! Thiss book is the catalyst for feeling of love, hope and hate. Benny is the charactristic of a real woman, a whole woman. I am so glad i read the book before I saw the movie. The movie was so awful, I was so discusted with the end. It made Benny look gullable and doe-eyd; the exact opposite of thee real book character. Th producer and directer should be shot for ripping apart a beautiful story of growing and learaning and making it into some Diane Steele paperback in a grocery store.

Book Review: Absolutely stunning
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is one of the best I've ever read. Maeve Binchy's description of Dublin and KNockglen, along with the characters and their lifestyles, are so realistic that you feel as if they're someone you already know. Benny is so young and so innocent and it is her own vulnerablity that makes her more appealing than Nan, who is obviously more superior physically. Every character is so very well defined, and the story itself is very stable and touching. This is one coming-of-age tale that is really worth reading.

Book Review: An all-nighter
Summary: 5 Stars

This is an amazing book. Once I started reading, I could not put it down until I had read up to the very last page. The characters were so real, and the plot was excellent. I sympathized with Benny, rejoiced when good things happened to her and got very sad when things went badly. Even though it didn't have a Hollywood ending, I thought it was very true to the characters. Some people might find it a bit slow, but I loved every page of it. Even being very tired the next day was worth it. A must read.
