Ken Perlman's virtuosity shines through the massive scope that this book covers, from your first tentative brush-thumb combination to the complex tunings, technical wizardry and farely complex musical forms that greet you towards the book's end.

The book truly lives up to it's promise & has new lessons for beginners, advanced players, and everybody between. There may be much simpler books for *complete* beginners (such as Tim Jumper's book - also on Amazon), but once through the first couple of steps, Ron Perlman's teaching method comes into it's own.

As a guitar player new-ish to Clawhammer I cannot comment on the techniques late in the book because they are as yet way beyond me. But when you think you are getting pretty efficient, and then realise the book has forty dense pages of lessons left, you understand what good value it is. Perlman clearly poured everything he knew at the time into this book, and for a tenner you cannot ask for more than that.

If you are serious about Clawhammer, buy it.
