I do NOT want 21st Century profanity and promiscuity in my Jane Austen/Regency Era literature! I love Jane Austen. I love science fiction, historical fiction, and especially time travel. I love the idea of a 21st Century woman suddenly finding herself in a good Jane Austen/Regency Era plot. But it is apparently too much to ask for a dignified, likable 21st Century heroine. For this reason I also hated the "Lost in Austen" DVD. Am I wrong to think that most of us love Jane Austen novels because we want to immerse ourselves in the dignified behavior and dialogue?
