His building and achievements in Jewish education in Israel have few equals. In this stimulating book of essays he examines the spiritual life of Israel. He argues passionately for a more open, a more responsible Judaism. He dialogues with his great teachers Rabbi Joseph Dov Baer Soloveitchik, Yeshayahu Leibowitz, Mordechai Kaplan and respectfully differs on various questions in Jewish thought.
