Book Reviews of Conscious Eating

Book Review: Eat better and save your life.
Summary: 5 Stars

Processed foods and sugars are poison. Eat better and live longer. Read this book and add at least 10 years to your life. It's scary how much better I feel after eating like this for 8 weeks. If you are reading this and care about your health then check it out,... out of your local library. Live, Love, Be.... BeLive.

Book Review: Educated Opinion
Summary: 5 Stars

Best book available that makes a case for vegetarian, vegan, and raw food diets. Dr. Cousens draws upon best available science, medicine, and his own extensive experience as a physician. For the last 20 years, prior to reading this book, I have read many books and tried many diets related to spirituality and health. I have attempted to apply the learning from many of those books with varying levels of success. Dr. Cousens puts everything together in this one book and provides complete and accurate information to work from. Much of it reads like a medical text but I found it easy to scan for information that is most useful. If you are already a vegetarian and want to go to a raw food diet, do not feel you have to do it by the book. You can introduce raw foods according to your inclination and schedule. Be careful not to get caught up in an ideal of perfection. Pay attention to what your body is telling you. You can use this book as the best source to get started.

Book Review: Excellent and Important Book
Summary: 5 Stars

I read the original edition of this book decades ago, and found it very valuable. It puts raw food eating in the context of spiritual life, although certainly not to the detriment of good science. Dr. Cousens is a physician whose in depth research, personal experience, and now decades of work guiding others, inform a very well written, readable book with lots more information than you might expect on the subject. It is a great step simply to steer toward vegetarian diet and an increased percentage of raw foods, and many books offer guidance in this direction. But this book goes far beyond that. The new edition is a great improvement on the first, and as I read it (just got it recently) I keep re-discovering things from my first introduction to this kind of eating and life style, and more good stuff to help a person both decide whether to pursue this direction and how to manage the personal pitfalls and challenges involved.

Book Review: Excellent transaction
Summary: 5 Stars

I had no problem with the product. I got it in a timely manner and it was in excellent shape. Was well pleased.

Book Review: Eye opening for Standard American Diet consumers
Summary: 4 Stars

As a Naturopathic physician one of the first issues I discuss with people is diet. What we eat is our life's fuel. I don't give the same advice over and over, because we are unique individuals who require unique diets. There is no "One Way" that is best for everyone. However, much of what Dr. Cousens writes about in his book would benefit all of us. Not only does he delve into detailed explainations of why raw vegan foods are healthier choices, but he backs it up with the most recent research available. Then he goes to great lengths explaining how simply bringing one's consciousness to the table can shift how that food is "taken in" by the body. As one who has both professionally and personally experimented with many types of diets, I find his writing to be a lovely blend of passion and science. By incorporating just a little of what Dr. Cousens recommends into your life, you will enhance your spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being whether or not you ever become vegetarian.
