CONSEQUENCES, Skyy's follow-up to Choices, details the senior year of Cooley, Nic, Denise, Misha, Lena and Carmen. Lena is proceeding with her plans to marry Brandon despite the feelings she has for Denise. Cooley and Misha are no longer a couple, but that does not keep them from hooking up from time to time. Carmen and Nic's relationship is holding steady, although Carmen's previous relationship makes Nic awfully uncomfortable. New lovers, friends and situations introduced in the sequel provide extra drama for the girls. As they prepare to graduate and embark on new futures, who will be loving whom?
Although the setting is the lesbian community, CONSEQUENCES is anybody's story of the decisions made in the name of love. The book is well-written with a fast-pace. It took me a moment to get familiar with each character and who was paired with whom, but once I got past my confusion, the plot and drama held me until the end. The ending lends itself to a sequel, which I look forward to reading.
