This is not a follow-the-plan-and-have-a-perfect-body-in-x-weeks book. This is about real fitness: taking care of your body to enjoy more of life. Mark Verstegen starts from your core values, things that matter most to you. If you understand how healthy eating and exercise benefit your core values, they are not an obligation any more but a logical extension of your career, family and social life. He continues with guidelines on nutrition. Then it's time to work on a strong but flexible body, starting with the part that initiates and controls all of your movements: your core or pillar. Add a moderate dose of weight lifting, energy system development (cardio) and you have very simple but highly effective fitness program. As you progress, just add more challenge, either by doing more in the same amount of time or adding new moves.

If you are looking to improve your general fitness and don't want to pass all of your evenings in the gym, this book is a definite must-read.
