Book Review: Thrilling, Tense and Terrifying!

I've often looked at old abandoned buildings and wondered what's inside. I like to imagine time standing still within these buildings; all the artefacts, furniture etc still there frozen in time. 'Creepers' is the name given to people who actually enter these buildings to explore them, and to revisit the past. Well I liked this idea before I'd even started the book, and it definitely didn't disappoint. In this story a group of five people enter an old decaying hotel which has stood for over 100 years and is soon to be demolished. The descriptions of the crumbling hotel are wonderfully spooky and eerie, and as the history of the hotel becomes clear it's evident that there are a lot of old ghosts roaming around this building.
I won't spoil it for those who read it but let me say that these 'creepers' aren't the only ones in this building and there's a lot more to the story than meets the eye. This was the first book I read by David Morrell and it won't be my last. It's a long, long time I've been this scared reading a book - I sat up in bed until 2.30am reading this with my heart thumping furiously, but there was no way I could turn the light off until I'd finished the book!
Overall, a wonderful idea, with so many twists and turns that every page was a delight to read. One of those books which you can't stop reading but you don't want to end.
