Book Review: Great source if you want to pass the USMLE step 3

I highly recommend this book if you want to pass the USMLE step 3 exam. I used it with great success. I highly recommend 2 particular books for the USMLE 3 review: 1)CRUSH THE STEP 3, by Brochert and, 2) SWANSON'S FAMILY PRACTICE REVIEW, 4th Ed. by Tallia, Cardone, Howarth and Ibsen. The Blueprint series for the USMLE 2 and 3 did help me enlighten and strenghten my foundation on the topics I needed to learn more about. If you have time, I would read the Blueprint series as well. In addition, I would highly recommend using Kaplan's QBanks for the USMLE 3 review. Go to www.....com to access Kaplan's QBanks for a reasonable fee that's surely worth it. These sources have greatly helped me pass the USMLE 3 with little time to spare. If you want to further focus on particular topics while reviewing for the USMLE 3, I would suggest the following books as good concise references: 1) PROFESSIONAL GUIDE TO DISEASES, 7th Ed., by Springhouse, 2) CECIL ESSENTIALS OF MEDICINE, 5th Ed., By Carpenter, Griggs and Loscalzo and, 3) CURRENT MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT 2002/2003, By Tierney, McPhee and Papadakis. All the books I mentioned can be bought from Amazon.com. I read that the book BOARDS AND WARDS by Ayala and Spellberg is good, but I personally did not use it. I took step 2 recently and this book was my primary review book, it was recommended by a friend and I really appreciated the advice. This book was written for step 3 but I can't tell with words how useful it was for me in step 2 along with the platinum notes 2002 from the same author, I highly recommend this book, specially chapters like surgery and peds are really high yield.Book Review: Yeah, crush it baby!

You can definitely crush the exam with this book. Very high-yield, well written, packed full of info (how did it all fit in 200 pages?). I did much better on step 3 compared to step 2 with this book, though I studied less. Powerful stuff...Book Review: excellent board prep

I used only this book and Swanson's to prepare for step 3 and not only felt confident while taking the boards--but aced them! The book even gives hints throughout about what sort of questions you will see on the boards. Since step 3 is quite different from steps 1 and 2 I found this quite helpful.Book Review: Crushes the other Review Books

This book crushes the other review books. It also compliments them. This book is concise, thorough, and up to date. It was particularly helpful for the CCS section of the exam. It also has many convient tables, and a few photographs. Using this book along with Swanson's, and a CD-ROM with many multiple choice questions (MCQ) can almost guarantee a decent passing score.
