Book Reviews of DMSO: Nature's Healer

Book Review: Very Informative
Summary: 4 Stars

I found the book to be informative and a little difficult to read at times, but over all I would recommend this book to anyone interested in finding out about DMSO.

Book Review: Very cool book and product!
Summary: 5 Stars

I got the book after I got the DMSO, which I found out about via a Jenny McCarthay book where she mentioned some "Mother Warrior" used it to help her autistic kid. I found an article on the net that said vitamin B12 and folic acid could be dissolved in DMSO and then applied to the skin for good absorption to cure anemia, and another article on how DMSO can cure colitis and I was hooked.

This book doesn't mention either of those treatmens using DMSO and there are a lot more exciting possibilities like using DMSO to get GABA supplements across the blood brain barrier that it doesn't touch, but the information in it is fascinating. I read the book in a day, couldn't put it down. It was very clear for a medical layman.

Basically it's a summary of a lot of research done on DMSO with a section in the beginning on what it is and how they think it works on the body. Some of the research summarized that I found interesting are the use of it within 90 min of a spinal cord injury preventing paralysis, the way it can be used on burn victims to prevent infection, numb pain, and promote healing, and the treatment of infants with Down's Syndrome to help them reach their potential and prevent some of the genetic effects it can cause.

The book also covers (briefly with no conspiracy theories) why the FDA has shut down research on this drug that was once labeled a breakthrough new medicine by them, and why doctors can't tell us about it or recommend it without fear of losing their license.

I used it for a week and my ganglion cyst completely disappeared, an unexpected but welcome side-effect!

Book Review: Wow! So much information and DMSO works!
Summary: 5 Stars

This book has everything you need to know about DMSO. I have used the product for years and it works very well for back pain and soreness of joints. It comes in creams, lotions and spray.

Book Review: better than others
Summary: 4 Stars

Compared to other books on this subject this was above average. I liked the writing, it didn't get bogged down in the science as so many do.

If you're really into the subject matter - and i mean rEALLY into it - then this book is the best of the lot that I've read.

Book Review: didn't work for me
Summary: 2 Stars

The book is great, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating, right?

Of course, I got all excited when I first read it over a decade ago and - since I will try almost anything, and have been constantly experimenting with many different products and treatments for nearly 2 decades - spent a great deal of time trying to source this product, which is used industrially (that alone, should have warned me off, but the book was very persuasive).

Initially used it enthusiastically, then off and on for several months, but cannot say there were any noticeable improvements. I'd recommend looking instead into the latest fashionable supplements: high-dose vitamin D as well as the stalwarts like magnesium, coconut oil and the omega-3 essential fatty acids - perhaps also hydrogen peroxide (but be careful with this one, do your research).

Later note: I've recently been impressed with D-Ribose for energy (read "The Sinatra Solution") and Xylitol for overall healing (read "The Sweet Miracle of Xylitol").
