Book Review: Mischief and Adventure!

A story that some say promotes mischief in the form of poaching pheasants!
No stranger to mischief as a child, I loved it! Particularly the part where the drugged pheasants all wake at the wrong moment and reveal the scam! The main character, Danny, is imaginative, intelligent and brave which will appeal to most children.
So many great books by Roald Dahl (ah, the BFG! Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!), but this one resonated with me because of a place we lived when I was young, a little English village called Horringer, with a beautiful park called Ickworth. A place of gamekeepers and poachers where a walk at dusk became an Adventure and the whirr of a pheasants wings exploding from the grass beside your feet would make your heart pump and your skin tingle!
A wonderful, fun and imaginative story! Kids will love it!
