Book Reviews of Day by Day Armageddon (A Zombie Novel)Book Review: compulsive reading Summary: 5 StarsHi this not what i would usually do, but as i have just finished reading Armageddon i thought i would give my opinion about it. I enjoy the Brian Keene and Travis Adkins style of zombie horror and have to say this one was excellent, hard to put down read, with a constant thread and story line, which was fast paced and action filled. I found myself lost wondering how i would solve the problems and situations, that the main character gets himself into. I had to fight with my son to read this book and it was well thumbed with turn down pages for both of us. I would heartly recomend this book and i enjoyed the way it was written in the past as a day by day diary. I hope this helps you make up your mind whether to buy or not.

Book Review: This is the real deal for zombie fans Summary: 5 StarsI completely disagree with many of the criticisms made by other readers of this book. The book is actually very well written and those who say it isn't have missed the point. The book follows a diary format which is actually a very difficult format to follow and keep the reader engaged for any period of time, but J.L.Bourne achieves this magnificently, it truly is a book which will keep you hooked into the wee hours as you keep telling yourself 'just one more page'.
It is unrealistic and wrong to expect beautifully crafted writing, this is a survivor's diary and therefore should read like one. The survivor in question is a pilot from the US airforce and the author's knowledge in this area is used superbly. Reading this book generated the same sort of feeling I got when I watched Dawn of the Dead for the first time: living in a world of Zombies as one of only a few surviovors would actually be kind of cool and exciting. I do not think I am alone in feeling like this amongst fans of the zombie genre, and if you can relate to that then you will definitely love this book. A sequel is on the way as well, which this book includes a preview of.
Book Review: Good zombie page turner Summary: 4 StarsGood book - both in its concept and writing. The approach is a little different to the regular 'story' type approach - this is all from one mans view - his story, as it happens. I loved it. Agood book and hard to put down. Buy it!
Book Review: Wake Me Up If Anything Interesting Happens Summary: 1 StarsI suppose this sort of book is OK if you can just get your kicks reading about zombies. I found the whole experience deeply disappointing, it did not live up to the favourable reveiws. The characters were wooden and undeveloped and I could not feel any empathy for them. The events were just one thing happening after another, no thread to follow. Very boring.
If you want to read a good post apocalypse novel read The Road by Cormac McCarthy this book dosen't touch it
Book Review: Great read. Summary: 5 StarsIf you like gripping, exciting reads this is for you.
For one who doesn't like the diary style. I totally loved this book.
Right from the start everything is there, gore, zombies, tragedy, excitement, friendship.
The way the reader feels they know the characters very well even the dog! The introduction of the family makes for a smile and the daring way that the surviors go through their day - to - day life makes for an amazing read.
J.L Bourne could well be my new favourite zombie writer.
This is my 2nd favourite zombie book of all time. I can't wait for the sequel.
