Book Reviews of Day by Day Armageddon (A Zombie Novel)

Book Review: My most favorite horror novel ever!
Summary: 5 Stars

This book hooked me from the first page and made me feel like I was part of the story. Bourne did a fantastic job of giving the characters personality unlike most horror novels. I highly recommend this book.

Book Review: Wonderful read
Summary: 5 Stars

J.L. Bourne cunningly explores the emotional and physical struggle of one man in a post-apocalyptic world populated by the living dead. Bourne skillfully transports the reader into a nightmarish world where few are lucky enough to survive.

"Day by Day Armageddon" is written from a first-person perspective in the form of a daily journal. It reflects the military and survival expertise of the author, but does so in a fashion that does not alienate the reader.

"Day by Day Armageddon" is a fantastic work of fiction that I highly recommend.

Book Review: Great book, with interesting new ideas on the Zombie genre
Summary: 4 Stars

I first came across Mr. J.L. Bourne's work on his website, and I just had to get his book! Not only is he serving our country as a member of our Armed Forces, but he also writes quite well!

To be fair, there are some typographical, and perhaps even grammatical errors in the book. However, being that it's written/presented in a "personal journal" format, I find the few errors acceptable. Who of us here can honestly say we don't make errors in our own journals or writings?

J.L. Bourne projects his main character as an "every-man" - not "Rambo", not "Ahhnold", not some Super-Soldier with access to every high-tech, fantasy gizmo under the sun. The main character could be you, your friend, or your next door neighbor - someone who, under the circumstances, is forced to rise above the rest in order to survive in a Post Apocalyptic World (or P.A.W.).

There are some new and interesting ideas regarding the Zombie genre. Without giving away any "spoilers" to this book, suffice it to say I wouldn't want to be swimming in THIS P.A.W. anytime soon...

Thank You, Mr. Bourne - please bring us more!

Book Review: Warning: This book is very hard to put down!
Summary: 5 Stars

I usually don't read zombie books, but a friend suggested this book and author. I was immediately drawn into Bourne's story line. The exciting plot keeps you wondering what will happen next. Told in the first person, I almost felt like this adventure was happening to me. After reading the book, I checked out the author's website, and can't wait to see what else will be coming out. I highly recommend this book!

Book Review: J.L. Bourne is a master storyteller!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great book, Zombie genre or not. Bourne has written a page-turner of a thrill ride. I had a hard time putting this book down, the story is very compelling and being character driven you really feel for the protagonist and the rag-tag survivors he picks up / rescues along the way. There is some really great, creepy imagery in this book and the pacing is brilliant; you, as the reader, and the characters are always waiting for the next shoe to drop. I have read this book 3 times; I have never done that with any other book (outside of graphic novels). WARNING: This book will leave you wanting more, you will find yourself asking: "Where is the next installment, John?"
