Book Review: A remarkable book

This is a smartly executed suspense novel with fascinating characters. The past-life-regression element used in the book adds intrigue and it's fascinating to read as the story tacks back and forth between the present and the early 1900s as a county medical examiner is stalked by a killer who claims to have killed her before--in other lifetimes.
Ann Yang, the medical examiner from Bucks County, PA, is edgy, intelligent, yet emotionally stifled. There is unique use of language, the pace moves briskly, and the dialogue seems very realistic. The book raises a myriad of questions and issues, most interesting to me, issues of female desire, love, and obsession. I haven't read anything like it.
