Summary: 3 Stars
Dead and Gone, the ninth installment of the Sookie Stackhouse novels is unfortunately not Harris' best effort. Much of the book is "filler" which means that Sookie's past is rehashed and her daily routine gone over and over and over.....you get it. I really never warmed to the fairy prince Niall who is Sookie's grandfather and felt like this whole plot with the fairy war was very contrived and lackluster. The most redeeming part about this novel is the sex scene between Eric and Sookie and boy is it steamy! Will Sookie ever make up her mind if she loves Eric? Will Bill ever regain Sookie's affections? Will Sam make his move for Sookie? Will Harris step up for the next installment and give her readers the exciting, twisted plot and writing they deserve and she is capable of? All this remains for the next installment, but in the meantime you can enjoy a mediocre rendition of supes, weres, vamps and Sookie.
