Book Review: "An Unfortunate Turn for the Worse"
Summary: 2 Stars
What a shame about this book. The wonderful charm of the Sookie Stackhouse series has always been in the quirky, interesting, unusual twists of the plots and characters. This book felt like it was a paint by numbers product and that the author was going through a mental checklist as she wrote, ticking off "obligatory" this and thats. It was formulaic, shallow, and full of violence that did little to enhance the plot or the reader's understanding of the characters. I hope the next book is more in line with the rest of the series and this book is just a one-off dud.
