Book Review: A Charming Read

As always, Amanda Quick has made loveable characters. Olympia is delightfully scatterbrained, distracted, and not ashamed of relying on her man, her intuition, nor her feelings. Jared is not set up to be the "pirate". He is described as one in appearance, based on the the long hair and the eye patch, but at no point in the book does he purport to be one! The last reviewer was upset that he was a "droll merchant", which in fact he prided himself in. Jared has spent his life happy to make that disctinction, in a family full of passionate buccaneers. He is definitely not boring in the least and is a compassionate man, one whom recognizes the need to have Olympia in his life, no matter the changes to his organized world. He is wonderful with the children, the dog, and the irascible Mrs. Bird.

Definitely add this book to your library. I love the verbal sparring that occurs in her books and I love that the heroine always stands behind her man, against society and their opinions.
