Book Review: Love it!
Summary: 5 Stars
My 2 year old daughter loves this book!! I think this is a great book for any child that is potty training and a Dora fan. I was a little put off by some of the negative reviews and I almost didn't get this book but I'm so glad I did. It just arrived yesterday so we read it for the first time last night. Well, this book was the FIRST thing my daughter was talking about when she woke up this morning. True, it doesn't actually show Dora using the potty but it doesn't take away from the message at all. It also only shows a potty seat and not a stand alone potty but again, it doesn't really seem to take away from the message. What I love about it, and what my daughter picked up on immediately, is that Dora mentions multiple times in the book how she used to wear diapers when she was a baby and how her little sister and brother wear diapers because they're babies. It also mentions wiping, flushing and washing hands...all things children tend to love to do separate from and before actually learning to use the potty so again, my daugther picked up on these things immediately. The button isn't too hard to press, my just turned 2 year old has no trouble. Does it really sound like a flushing toilet? No, but it's close enough and she LOVES to push the button when Dora tells her to.
PS - I also bought 'potty time' based on it's good reviews and that book doesn't compare to the Dora book in any way. It's much less 'mature' and has not real story or anything that kids can interact with.
