Book Review: Patterson Books Have Become a Gamble These Days, Double Cross is a Winner Though!

James Patterson books have long ago gone from constant masterpiece to hit and miss even amongst the books of the Alex Cross series. He's still producing enough very average novels to keep you getting these from your library rather than purchase them but if you are contemplating paying for Double Cross rather than wait for it to be honest its a pretty good read. However it does need an understanding from previous novels of Alex, Nana, Sampson and Kyle Craig as Double Cross reads as if you already know them all with not much depth into any of them. The storyline is also pretty far fetched but it is fiction after all. Like the good Patterson thrillers the pace of this book does keep up from page one and you won't want to put it down until the end.
In Double Cross a very creative serial killer is taunting Alex and his girlfriend detective Bree whose case the first murder belongs to. This killer fancies himself as a brilliant actor and loves an audience for his killings, as does his female accomplice and he plans to go down in history a legend, as big or bigger than his hero Kyle Craig. Meanwhile Kyle has plans of his own which he will shortly put in motion to escape from his maximum security prison home, a place no one has ever escaped before, but of course they all weren't Kyle Craig!
