Book Review: Doug's new biography entry

Everyone is raving about this book. Frankly don't get it? Did not find the book to be an exhaustive study, a ground breaking entry, etc. I found nothing but a re-hash of what's alreay been told, no astounding new facts uncovered or details disclosed. The book appears to be hefty, on slick heavy paper and feels solid. But if take away all the pictures and the tons of blank space, you end up with, if you are lucky, the equivalent of a 100 page book. No make it 75 pages of text. "His Picture in the Papers" a few years back, THAT was a real book, not a book-ette as this appears to be. OK, it's a nice coffee table book, lots of pictures, but not a "definative biography." That's my opinion, and I realize it's way off from all of you. Sorry about that.
