Book Reviews of Dr. Seuss's ABC: An Amazing Alphabet Book!Book Review: We LOVE this book! Summary: 5 StarsCall me crazy...but I like this version better than the original. I think it flows much more nicely and my daughter (2 years old) can say it along with me. Shame on you who don't like it because it isn't the "original" version. Sometimes toddlers need a shorter version (and sometimes that version might even be better!)
All I can say is that we love it!
Book Review: an excellent on-the-go book Summary: 5 StarsThis book takes allthe wacky fun of Dr Seuss and makes it travel sized!!My daughter loves toook at this book and I take it with me everywhere. Its small size makes it easy to just throw in the diaper bag (or purse) and go! Plus the board pages are sturdy so you don't have to worry about over-zealous infants ripping pages.
Book Review: The whimsical language Dr. Seuss! Summary: 5 StarsThis irresistible rhyming board book dances through the alphabet with the infectious cadence and zany illustrations that bear the hallmark of Seuss. ("Big F, little f, what begins with F? Four fluffy feathers on a Fiffer-feffer-feff.")
I see a customer wrote that the board version cannot compare with the original hardcover. I have both versions and they don't differ drastically. Either way, what child or grown-up can resist "Ten tired turtles on a tuttle-tuttle tree..."
My son who is 4 years old truly enjoys this book. He reads it everyday (pretend to read it only by memory). This one is fun to read out loud ~~ and it really teaches our children the fun of learning our alphabet. While they are still young to know the alphabet, they do enjoy the bright colorful pictures of this book as well as the whimsical language Dr. Seuss is famous for!
If you like Red Fish, Blue Fish, you will enjoy this one. It moves along at a fun pace and it's not boring to repeat yourself time after time!
I highly recommend this one ~~ it's hard to get tired of reading this one!, my son can second that motion.
Book Review: Educational with a Silly Twist to make it Interesting Summary: 5 StarsHaving been a Dr. Seuss fan since I was a little girl, I was immensely interested in this adorable board book for my own baby girl. I have had a hard time getting her interested in books and the Bright & Early Board Books (namely the Dr. Seuss ones) have actually caught her attention! This ABC book uses silly concepts and fun drawings to encourage children in the department of learning their letters. I particularily like the repition involved with each letter, to really draw the child's attention to that specific letter, rather than just words that start with it. A great read, for adults & kids alike.
Book Review: Perfect length for an active toddler Summary: 4 StarsLike most of the other reviews, I too loved the longer version of this book as a kid. However, board books were created for youngsters who aren't ready to handle the delicate paper pages of the regular version. It's for that reason that I love this book, too. My son is 18 months and while he loves the full-length version of Green Eggs and Ham, most of the other Seuss books are too long for his attention span. He will sit and listen to me read these shorter stories or he can flip through the pages himself. When he's older we'll introduce the other, longer versions to him.
