Book Reviews of Driver #8Book Review: A excellent read! Summary: 5 Stars
I'm a "Driver #20" fan, but this book by Junior is simply wonderful. Oh, it's not all that deep, but it tells a great story. His first person accounts of the races from his in-car perspective are really interesting and book really moves along fast - I think I got through the whole thing in a single weekend. The neatest thing about it is that Junior's personality really comes through here in his writing style. If you've ever seen him interviewed on TV, you will perceive the same attitude (sort of a big swagger tempered by a lot of neophyte humbleness) here in print. I think that is pretty remarkable - this book is truly is told in the first person and you will feel as if you actually spent the 2000 Winston Cup year as a part of Junior's entourage when he's writing about events off the track, and you'll feel like you're "Wilson" when he's writing about the racing on the track. This is a super book - and it's not just for Nascar fans. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying this book.
Book Review: A look at Driver #8 Summary: 5 Stars
This book shows how driven Dale Jr. is. He shows how driven he is at each race. While some Rookies worry about making the race he is worried about a top 10 or better at each track. It is a look at his rookie year with a glimpes into last year. It is a great read for a Nascar fan.
Book Review: A must read for any Nascar Fan Summary: 5 Stars
Hi, I am a new fan of NASCAR. My dad has always been a fan esp of Dale Earndhardt. I came across this book and decided to order it. I have read the whole book in over a week; which is fast for me. I have greatly enjoyed this book. Not only do you get to know Dale jr. a little better you get to see the world of racing through his eyes. I have learned about the sport from this book. If you are looking for a bio on Dale Jr this is not the book for you. If you are looking for what life was like with Dale Sr. this is not the book. You will get a breif background on his life and yes he talks about his dad alot in the book, but it's mostly for the boss - driver aspect. weather or not you are a fan of Jr or not this is a great book for any race fan. It gives you the fly on the wall look at the ups and downs of a Wiston Cup season.
Book Review: A very good driver Summary: 5 Stars
This is a really good book Dale Earnhardt and some other people wrote it, but he wrote most of it. Dale is a race car driver. It is about all the Nascar drivers. This is an autobigraghy. There were lots of people that read it. My mom likes the book a lot. It explains what goes on in his life and with his enemy Jeff Gorden, number 24. I read this book two times; it is really good. I recommend this book to people who like Nascar.
Book Review: A very good story Summary: 4 Stars
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It is not a great piece of literature that will become a classic. But it is a wonderful story about someone who has triumphed and experienced the greatest tradgedies. It is written so that it feels like you are having a conversation with the author. I am also glad that the author writes how he speaks. He is showing that our generation has a little bit of style and knows how to have fun while still being responsible. For any NASCAR fan this book is wonderful. For all of those out there who aren't, get this book anyway!
