Book Review: Fresh & Honest Prospective on NASCAR
Summary: 5 Stars
This is a wonderful read for all NASCAR fans even if you are not a Dale Jr. fan. I was glad to find that Dale Jr. divulged emotions regarding the death of Dale Sr. appropriately and respectfully while conserving the privacy that he and all NASCAR drivers fight daily to preserve. As a twentysomething NASCAR fan I naturally related to his new millenium attitude and approach to the industry, his career, and often complicated issues such as media infringement, sponsor committments and unstable fans. Additionally, this book provides the reader with fantastic play by play descriptions of the races along the NASCAR circuit of his Rookie season with driver oriented explanations of various technical issues of the cars and tracks.Overall, I rated this book 5 stars for its easy readability and attention keeping entertainment factor. By the end of this book you'll be ready to invite this guy over for a cold Bud!

I bought this book for my husband and he just loved it. What a great story about his rookie year. It was great fun to read. Jr shows his wit, candor and honesty. He tells it like it is. It is a view behind the scenes of NASCAR. He explains what it's like to be a driver in the greatest sport and a son of a racing legend.Book Review: GREAT BOOK!!!!!!

I couldn't put it down....Dale Jr takes you on an emotional rollercoaster of his rookie year. You share in his triumphs and disappointments.
It allows #8 and NASCAR fans in general a glimpse into his life while he is trying to find and prove his place in NASCAR. No doubt his humor and mischievous ways will entertain you.
You experience the struggles that the #8 team overcomes and the respect that have for one another.You come away feeling that yes he is Dale Earnhardt Jr, #8, but he is also a son,brother,uncle and friend(also a big flirt..LOL) He loves his job and respects the sport...
You won't regret buying this book......

I felt that this book gave a lot of insight into what really happens in the life of a Nascar driver. I learned some things about racing that I didn't know. I feel like I got to know a little more about Dale, Jr. the person than just Dale,Jr. the driver. Once the book started moving from track to track, I couldn't wait to see what comments were coming next. Reading the good and not so good things about each track was very interesting. I would recommend this book to just about anyone who just likes auto racing of any kind.
