Book Reviews of Driver #8Book Review: GREAT book Summary: 5 Stars
As a Dale Jr. fan I'd read anything he does but this is simply a well written piece of work. He may be a youngster in the sport but Dale Jr. can write with a maturity while still maintaining his youthfull sense of style and humor. Although those that don't follow races every week may not understand some things he talks about or find the summary of races a bit boring....NASCAR fans will enjoy getting a behind the scenes feel for what drivers and their crew go through week after week, be it the thrill of victory or the low points after a heartbreaking bad day. I especially loved Dale's honesty about the things he does off the track, like the appearances he makes, how he feels about them and the fun he has with friends at Club E. After reading this book I'd give anything to see Dale at Halloween as "Dirk Diggler".....what a hoot!!DON'T get this book if you are looking for a "life story" about his childhood or a biography about Dale's life after losing his dad. Although he touches on it in the Epilogue, this is a book about Dale JR, not SR and as Jr says in the beginning, that book may be coming years down the road. I'm proud to be a fan of one of NASCAR's rising stars and this book will make the upcoming 2002 season all the more enjoyable.
Book Review: Great Book Summary: 5 Stars
I've read thousands of books, and this is the best book that I've ever read. It is very easy to read, gives the reader a feel of actually being at the track and a better idea of what racer realy go through. I just wish it had been longer. Hopefully he'll write another someday!
Book Review: Great Book! Summary: 5 Stars
I really enjoyed this book. It is written in Dale, Jr's own words and his down to earth, good ol boy charm is not lost on paper. Each chapter is based on each race week-end throughout the season, which gives you some insight to what goes on "behind the scenes" at the track. The stories have everything; excitement, humor (you'll laugh out loud alot) and tears. I even bought this book for my father, who is not a Junior fan, but I knew would still enjoy the book! If your a Nascar fan, you'll like this book! If your a Junior fan (and how could you not LOVE this guy!) you will love this book! I hope he does another soon!
Book Review: Great Down To Earth Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great book on the rookie season of Dale Jr. I am a big fan of NASCAR and Jr. takes you behind the sceens on the road with him. A must read for the Dale Jr. Fan. He talks about from the time he arrives at each track until the end of the race in a step by step, day to day life of a NASCAR driver.
Book Review: Great job, Earnhardt! Summary: 5 Stars
Dale Earnhardt, Jr. We all know he is a great racecar driver, now he has proved to be a great write, as well. I have read his Nascar online column many times, so to me, this comes as no surprise. Jr takes readers inside the garage area with hi, sharing details of his life so few get to see. While he professes that this is not really an autobiography, he drops little phrases in here and there, showing a side I never knew exsisted. This is a great book that really captures Dale Jr's personality. It should, he wrote it. And did himself proud. One hellavu read!
