I'm here to tell you, this book is so compelling. If you ever want to feel like you're sitting in the room with an amazing race car driver, this is the book to give you that one on one experience. A rookie into the wildest ride of his life, Dale doesn't see himself as living in his father's shadow so to speak, he is very much his own man, with his own will and drive to win. While Dale Earnhardt, SR. was a huge part of Dale JR's life, the book is not about all the warm fuzzy moments father and son shared. It is reality at its finest, and I have to say, go pick up a copy of this book and hold on for a high speed read. 5 Hearts

Driver #8 was a very very good and insightful book. With Dale explaining every race of his rookie year it really lets you get a good feeling about what nascar is really like. This book is one of the best books i have every read that has to do with racing. The book is very fast paced and easy to get started and know exactly what is going on.
