Book Reviews of Drops of NectarBook Review: It is not the same as Yoga Sanctuary Summary: 3 Stars
I was expecting More of the same from Yoga Sanctuary and was a little disappointed!! I still use the Shavasana on it, in order to have some quite time after my Yoga practice. Even if it is the Invocations.
Book Review: Powerfully healing - a must for destressing yourself Summary: 5 Stars
This CD set is a must for anyone handling stress in their life. And who among us is not? There is only so much room in anyone's budget for therapists, massages, etc. At some point we have to use our own devices to deal with stress on a regular daily basis, or succumb to the ills it causes.
Shiva Rea comes to the rescue with this jewel of a CD set. It has been adequately described, I'll just add that the Chandra Namaskar (moon salutations) on Disc 1 are gentle and accessible to most people. There is a booklet included that describes the asanas (positions). Most of the material offered involves the motion of your mind rather than body. Light a candle, unplug the phone, make a nest with some blankets rolled under your knees and over you, and indulge in Disc 2 with its invocation, assortment of guided Savasanas, and healing Yoga Nidra. Then head straight to bed for a lovely night's sleep without the aid of pharmaceuticals. Highly recommended.
Book Review: Pure Bliss Summary: 5 Stars
Shiva Rea--I can't wait to see what she comes out with next! On the first CD, first track is a moon salutation--Chandra Namaskar, beautiful, honoring women and the female aspect of divinity. I do this salutation 2-3 times on the days when I my body is telling me it doesn't want to be put through a vigorous power yoga workout. When done, I find I am warmed up and stretched out very nicely! I then started teaching it to my students and they loved it also--they consider it like reciting poetry while doing yoga. The tennis ball massage is also the greatest--these two tracks mentioned above make this CD worth buying but the rest of the tracks on the album are a treat also-relaxing savasanas, meditation and poetry with Shiva's beautiful, soothing voice.
Book Review: Really GREAT ROUTINE FOR HOME! Summary: 5 Stars
I particularly love this yoga CD as an alternative to going to class and also in addition to training legs!
One may do variations within the structure of this routine to make it easier or harder. I've found using child's pose instead of down dog on some days to be particularly useful and working on the elbows as opposed to using your hands.
SHIVA REA IS A REAL GODDESS!
Book Review: WOW! Summary: 5 Stars
I can't write a full review of this 2 CD set, because I haven't done it all, but I must tell you all - BUY IT - just for the tennis ball massage. IT IS AMAZING! I tried it, and the guided yoga relaxation that comes just after it. Fabulous!
