Book Reviews of Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and IndonesiaBook Review: Eat, Pray, Love Summary: 5 StarsI am not quite finished with this book, but am so happy I made the purchase. I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing the journey chronicled by the author. The honesty in her writing is a refreshing change. She literally bares her soul for all to see. She not only documents the triumphs of reaching her goals, but also the struggles she endured along the way.
Book Review: Profound Summary: 5 StarsThis is one of the best books I've read in years. I was intrigued from the beginning, but fell head over heels in love when Ms. Gilbert describes her views on religion and "God"
Book Review: Along for the Journey Summary: 5 StarsThis was the perfect read for my recent 'milestone' birthday. Taking stock of my own personal priorities, I found Elizabeth Gilbert's life-learning journey inspirational. Ms. Gilbert writes with refreshing clarity and unique perspective. She gives you insight to the authentic atmosphere of each country and then brings you along to share the truly personal lessons she finds in each. Her approach is humble, honest and humorous. Between the many 'ah-ha' moments this book brought to me, I found tears and laughter as well.
Book Review: An Insightful and Fun book Especially for Women in Transition Summary: 5 Stars Elizabeth Gilbert is such a talented writer. She can be humorous and simultaneously touch your heart in a more serious way, bringing you to tears, as you completely identify with her and her own search for understanding. Her use of humor makes the "quest" more managable and fun -- less painful. In addition, her self-deprecation endears her to the reader.
Finally, she has the ability to convey fairly difficult spiritual lessons and insights in a humorous way so that everyone understands what she is talking about. Her humor always adds to, rather than detracts from the point she is making. In this respect, she is both writer and teacher.
Any woman going through a major life transition, and looking for meaning, will gain insight from this book. I also think many men would gain a better understanding of women by reading it.
Book Review: Wonderful Book Summary: 5 StarsI enjoyed every page of this book on many different levels and could identify with the author in many ways, as well. This book is for anyone seeking the Spirit, anyone who is going through or has gone through difficult times, trying to make sense of it all and move forward in a positive way and anyone interested in travel on a deeper level than just sightseeing. And the icing on the cake... Elizabeth Gilbert is an excellent writer with a great sense of humor!
