Book Reviews of Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia

Book Review: amazing memoir
Summary: 5 Stars

I loved this book - I defy anyone not to like at least one section of the book. Funny, witty, clear, and interesting. I finished it in two days and wished there was a part two!

Book Review: Life-Changing Book!
Summary: 5 Stars

I read and completely fell in love with this book. It's one of those books you want to give to all your closest friends. It's charming, funny, insightful and I've even started quoting from it. It's a very personal journey but I completely identified with her experiences and her quest for happiness. Any woman with an open mind/heart and a passion for travel will LOVE this book. It is hilarious, honest, and smart, and is totally in touch with where we're at.

Book Review: Mind boggling
Summary: 5 Stars

Every woman who has or has not been through a heart break must read this book! Every phrase is filled with history, honesty, facts, emotions and an amazing sense of humour. You can feel the author through her words
Loved every minute of it and am dying to know what happened to Liz after Indonesia!
I hope she is happy whereever she is and whatever she is doing!
She;s inspired me to try and do a trip like that!

Book Review: Very disappointing
Summary: 1 Stars

If you are reading this book hoping to get any insight into the places the author visits dont bother - Italy is reduced to a land of ice cream and pasta and there is not one mention of an Indian or a description of the Indian landscape in the third of a book devoted to India!! Its only when she gets to Indonesia that the self absorption starts to lift and we begin to get a sense of the country and its people.
There are much better books about the search for lifes deeper meaning which give a fantastic sense of place and people - and do so with great humour and honesty - try Lucy Edge's Yoga School Dropout, Mick Brown's Spiritual Tourist or Holy Cow by Sarah Macdonald - or all three - they are all brilliant!

Book Review: an absolute delight
Summary: 5 Stars

I cam across this book because I read an extract in Cygnus book club magazine. On the basis of the extract I ordered a copy - which is very rare for me.

The book has completely lived up to my expectations. The writing is an absolute delight and I am enjoying every page. Every woman who has experienced a break-up will empathise with the author as she travels through Italy, India and Bali endeavouring to find inner peace and equilibrium. Her writing is so open and honest and it effervesces over on every page. It is the kind of book you want to go on reading forever. I guess that says it all.
