As many others here have stated, a five minute glance at this "book" (more accurately a public relations brochure) in any store will tell you all you need to know--and allow you to read every scrap of text, probably twice. It's nothing more than a photo book--most of those professionally staged and previously published--of the now famous (infamous?) Gosselin Eight, the pint-sized reality TV stars of TLC's megahit "Jon & Kate Plus 8."
Though the "author" (I put the term in quotes since all she seems to have written here are vague photo captions that don't even identify who is in said photos), multiples' mother Kate Gosselin, cribbed a few Bible verses to put alongside the photos of her children she's shamelessly hawking, that doesn't make this effort any more wholesome, or enjoyable.
This is a photo book of the kind you'd make yourself on any photo site, without the large size and high quality binding a company like Snapfish would offer. Seriously. It's that bad. (If only Amazon allowed zero star ratings.)
Mrs. Gosselin was bafflingly quoted on the "Today Show" as saying she "didn't care if this book sold a single copy" because she "did it for her kids to have [personal memories]" Huh? Then why the solo 50-city book tour (undertaken while her marriage, according to tabloids anyway, lay in ruins) and, umm, why not just put a scrapbook together for those children or, perhaps, allow them some privacy?
As a mother myself, I rolled my eyes when I saw this book for sale and I worry for these children who, it's hard not to think, are being woefully exploited so that their parents can purchase sports cars and a mansion. (And I was also more than a little creeped out to imagine who would WANT this many pictures of young children they don't know personally, something most moms would, I imagine, have to consider. Most moms that don't sell photo books of their kids, anyway.) Since the kids are the draw, I hope an outside and objective entity is looking out for THEIR financial future, at least.
At this point, it's hard not to look at these "Eight Little Faces" and feel anything but pity.
