Steve Bloom is a photographer and judging by his other books, sees this as his profession. His photographs of elephants are wonderful, but what really struck me is his prose about how we view elephants, how we treat elephants, and how absolutely mistaken we are in our interpretation of who they are. The prose is well worth the price of the book (which should be more) and the photos are the icing on the cake from this spiritual, enlightened gentle man. He is someone I would like to know.
