Book Reviews of ElsewhereBook Review: A Wonderful story for all ages Summary: 4 Stars
This is a very compelling story that after my daughter, 11, and myself read it we discussed for 3 evenings in a row. In the story "Elsewhere" 15 year old Elizabeth Hall struggles accepting her death. She now lives in a new place named Elsewhere. In this place the people grow younger with each year until they reach the age of 7 days and then they are sent back down to live a new life. Since there are numerous great review that give a detailed account of the story I won't go any farther. The author kept the chapters interesting and after awhile I found myself reading page after page. It's a fascinating, wonderful story that I encourage young and mature adults to read.
Book Review: Afterlife Summary: 5 Stars
For those coping with the loss of a loved one, this story gives hope that there is something beyond our physical world.
Book Review: Beautiful, Uplifting Summary: 5 Stars
I just finished this book and I am speechless. It was one of the most original and beautiful books I have come across in quite a while. This abstract view of life after death and the fact that it really isn't death at all is so poetic and so hopeful. I literally finished this book and had a new frame of mind. This is one of those rare novels you come across that when you are finished you feel warmed and cozy and completely lost inside those last words. A book that you can't just help but smile because it opens your mind to the possibilities in the universe. I loved this book and I think that everyone should read it.
Book Review: Best quick read that leaves you wanting more Summary: 5 Stars
After reading a few reviews on Amazon I decided to purchase this book. I am so glad I did. I read this in one sitting and could not stop thinking about it after I finished. I went to bed and dreamed about it!
Zevin takes this life after death subject and presents in such a way that you can't help but want to discuss it with others. You begin to think about all the possibilities of what really does happen after death.
I laughed, I cried. I was moved. READ THIS BOOK TODAY!
Book Review: Better Elsewhere than Nowhere Summary: 4 Stars
What happens when you die? Do you go "up there"? Elsewhere is a YA book that has a unique view of the afterlife. The beginning starts with 15 year old, Elizabeth, waking up on a boat. She can't remember what has happened right before and she thinks she's dreaming for the longest time. The boat takes her to Elsewhere, where people go when they die. She meets her grandmother (who she had never met on Earth) there. In Elsewhere, instead of growing old, you get younger each year until you are a baby and are sent back to Earth. This is the story of Liz, dying yet still being able to live a life in Elsewhere. I think this book has some great insights on what can happen and a way to look at life - and death.
