Book Reviews of Elvis and MeBook Review: An Honest Book. Summary: 3 Stars
Even though I am a big fan of Elvis Presley, I have never read a book about him before but - I read this one in one sitting! However, without being judgmental about her permissive parents, the book is traight forward, answers a lot - nearly all. And, if Priscilla Presley tried to put her point across, she succeeded with me. Now I am a fan of Priscilla, too. Sorry, Cilla, it took me so long!
Book Review: Angry and Brutal To the Max! Summary: 1 Stars
Wow! Written after his death--before Elvis became the billion dollar "Cash Cow" that he is today--the author had no idea that the King would go on and become even bigger after death! The ex-wife obviously thought "Elvis was over" and that it was the beginning of her career. The book has got to be the coldest and cruelest rip off of the world's greatest entertainer. Her anger is so great that even after Elvis' death, the book was like she was trying to saw his coffin in two! How do true Elvis fans stand it that she is profiting so greatly from someone she so blantantly profaned to the world? The rape accusation--was that really necessary? She pictured Elvis as a blundering, drug crazed, frigid, psycho, sexual predator. I'm offended and the dead can't defend themselves.Obviously, the greatest tragedy in his life was his marriage to her. Shocking and very sad.
Book Review: Brilliant and straight to the point Summary: 5 Stars
Enjoyed the book becuase I found that what she was saying was straight and to the point -- it gave a clear and concise, candid look into her life and marriage with Elvis
Book Review: Chilling story of life with Elvis Summary: 5 Stars
I have read the book and have seen the film a dozen times... Chilling is all I can say... One minute he would be sweet and the next he would be a bully and sleeping around. Priscilla tells it from her POV. I came away with seing Elvis as 2 people.1. Loving and caring for other people. 2. A drug addict I really feel for her... She often tried to get him to quit the drugs, but I think that something was eating away at him... I often wondered what happened to him during the last years of his life. I would screen this book before giving this to younger Elvis fans. I think that this is for 15 and up. Paints a very dark picture of the king....
Book Review: Couldn't put it down! Summary: 5 Stars
This book is absolutley amazing and the best part is you know it's fact and not something made up. Ms. Presley did a great job and I know it had to be hard for her. I love Elvis now more than ever because she gave me an insight on how he was not just an icon but most importantly a good, decent man.
