Book Review: An astounding account of leadership and determination.
Summary: 5 Stars
Having been to Antarctica during Deepfreeze IV in 1958/1959, I can appreciate what a tremendous effort it must have been. I had a chance to visit Shackleton's hut near McMurdo and later some British sites on the Antarctic Peninsula. The fact that everybody in his crew survived the ordeal is a testimony to his leadership and strong will. His family credo was "Endurance". It makes you wonder: Where are the heros like Shackleton today?
