Yaccarino has a smoothing style of illustrations. What my 2-year-old likes the most about the story though is that it's just right amount of words for her. Although it's a good story, my daughter didn't bond with the story like those kids did in other reviews.Book Review: Simple story, nice illustrations. Great book.

This is the perfect book for my son and me. We have enjoyed a weekly father-son breakfast since he was 2 years old. This book captures the nice feeling of sharing a simple tradition of breakfast. The bonus in the book and for us is that we are not the only ones enjoying this tradition; the people we see each week have now seen us for years and they anticipate our breakfast just as much.
As an artist, I can appreciate Dan's beautiful, simple illustrations.
And as a kid, my son can, too.
