Book Reviews of Everyday Pasta

Book Review: Great Recipes!
Summary: 5 Stars

I think Giada is wonderful! Every time I go to the food network to find a recipe it seems the ones I always picked were by Giada. So I decided to order a couple of her cookbooks. I'm glad I did because their great!

Book Review: Great cookbook

Book Review: Great for pasta lovers who need a change!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought it because my husband loves pasta and I wanted something new other than the same few sauces we made. There are also pairings for pasta, appetizers and wine. There are tips along the way of preparing pasta and easy sauces. Some myths we have heard revealed. Still simple easy recipes and ingredients.

Book Review: Great pasta recipes
Summary: 5 Stars

I love Giada's amazing Italian dishes, and I love pasta -so combining the two into one cookbook is the perfect recipe collection for me. In fact, I first gave this cookbook to my mother for mother's day last year, and was so addicted to it that I had to get my own copy when I moved out.

In Everyday Pasta, the fine art of making sophisticated, yet easy and mouthwatering pasta is thoroughly explored. Not only does the book offer a heavy dose of pasta recipes, but includes a history of pasta, information about the differences between fresh and dried pasta, some pointers on stuffed pastas and flavored pastas. There's even a small section on basic pasta recipes and basic sauces.

Rather than covering the typical bases in cookbook, Everyday Pasta omits things like desserts and explores appetizers, soups (pasta and non), salads (both antipasta and pasta) and pastas for every type of mood: hearty pastas, lighter pastas, special occasions and quick, easy weeknight pastas. Some of the tasty pasta dishes here include Baked Penne with Roasted Vegetables, Turkey and Artichoke Stuffed Shells, Rotini with Salmon and Roasted Garlic, and Cheesy Baked Tortellini.

It's incredibly hard to say no to such a savory collection of healthy, relatively easy and downright fun recipes. They're easy to follow and feel natural, though I admit that some of the ingredients are a little less common and appeal a little more to the "foodie" crowd, Everyday Pasta is the perfect staple for any cookbook collection.

Book Review: Great recipes!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been a fan of Giada de Laurentiis since watching her cooking show on the Food Network, and loved her cookbook, Everyday Italian, that had lots of interesting recipes, and were generally fuss-free. In her latest offering, Giada doesn't disappoint...the cookbook is filled with great, practical pasta recipes, and also recipes for sauces, salads, and side dishes.
There are useful tips interspersed throughout, for e.g. pasta-cooking tips, how to match pasta shapes to sauces, grating cheeses, no cook pasta sauces & different ways to dress up risotto.
The book itself is divided into several sections: antipasti & appetisers [e.g. parmesan popovers], side dishes [e.g. greens with gorgonzola dressing], soups and pasta salads, hearty pastas [e.g. crab & ricotta manicotti], lighter dishes [for the more health conscious, e.g. eggplant mezzaluna ravioli], stuffed pastas, quick & easy weeknight pastas [e.g. penne with beef and arugula], flavored pastas, pastas for special occasions [champagne risotto!], & even some basic recipes.
Best part is that most of them are easy to make, and in fact can be made with ingredients at hand. The pictures are a delight, and a feast for the eyes, and the recipes are mouthwatering indeed. Another winner from a lovely and talented chef!
