Book Review: 3.5 stars for an "OK" Alex Delaware novel
Summary: 4 Stars
If I hadn't been reading this series since the beginning, I would have thought this was a much better book. But compared to earlier Alex Delaware novels, it is decent but nothing extraordinary. Like many other reviewers, I would rather wait longer for a better book in the series I enjoy than have them come out more quickly but just be OK.
Alex Delaware's contribution to solving the case is mostly to hang out with Milo Sturgis -- there was nothing he did that any of the other homicide detectives working the case with Milo couldn't have done.
It was an entertaining read even if it was not the psychological thriller readers expect from an Alex Delaware novel.
Publishers want their bestselling authors to pump out books as quickly as possible because they know fans will keep buying them even if they aren't the best work the authors are capable of producing. I hope Mr. Kellerman will slow down the pace so he can go back to the quality of books he used to write.
