Book Reviews of Excuse Me, Your Life Is Waiting: The Astonishing Power of FeelingsBook Review: one of those Must Have books. Summary: 5 StarsBascially you can be a victim of life and accept your fate as part of gods plan/karma or you can create your own future. Given a choice which you prefer? I have bought many copies of this book for my friends as that is how I got to see this book. It is also worth watching the cheesy DVD "The Secret" The Secret (Extended Edition) as that will help no end. Where as "The Celestine Prophecy"The Celestine Prophecy is less cheesy and will give you the motivation to put it all into practise.
It does not matter if beleive in God or Buddha its just mechanics. If you have exposure to NLP/TA you will recognise somethings just as you will if you are a buddhist. At the end of the day, its how you react/feel to the things around you and what you do next that leads you to where you are going.
All I can say is that it worked for me other wise I would not buy it for my friends.
Book Review: Life Changing Summary: 5 StarsAbsoultely amazing! Such a simple concept, but when applied it will change your life. It did mine. There are so many books about the Law of Attraction and the more you understand it, the more it will impact your world.
Book Review: Thinking of reading 'The Secret'? Read this instead. Summary: 4 StarsI purchased Grabhorn's book a few years ago, and frankly, I was pretty resistant to it the first time I read it. I also found the chatty, somewhat cutesy writing style annoying. However, I did try some of the principles Grabhorn discussed, and yes, they work!
I reread the book recently, after reading The Secret and some other books on attraction principles. I found that when I got past the cutesy stuff that initially bothered me, what I really appreciated about this book is the fact the Grabhorn:
1) Admits that this positive thinking/feel happy stuff is HARD to do, along with describing her own struggles with it, and
2) Gives you tips on how to make it work
For that reason, I would highly recommend this book. These principles do work, but they are foreign to us, and they aren't easy. Try forcing yourself to feel good when you're in pain, or ill, or in debt, or overweight, or in an unhappy relationship - it's tough, really tough. Grabhorn acknowledges that and gives you quite a few tips to try.
Personally, I found that 'talking to myself' about the things I wanted really helped the most. I couldn't force myself to feel great when I really didn't, but when I actually talked out loud about something I really wanted - a vacation, a remodeled home, etc - as if it was already mine, I found it easy to become enthusiastic about it, and I just naturally started feeling better. I talk to myself quite a bit anyway, so why not say good stuff instead of bad?
Does it work? So far, on a small scale, I'd say yes, it works. I've managed to win contests, get parking spaces, find that great pair of shoes on sale really cheap, get checks in the mail. I still haven't mangaged to lose 20 pounds or make a million dollars, but I haven't been doing this very long so the jury is still out on whether it really works on the 'big stuff.'
If you go into this knowing that the writing style is not the most sophisticated (yes, 'feeeeeelings' annoyed me too), and you can look past that, this book is definitely worth your time and money.
Book Review: It's all about the application Summary: 5 StarsI see a lot of the reviews give the author a hard time about her life/death and writing style. (Do we not enjoy Vincent van Gogh's art just because he shot himself, was severly depressed etc.... You get my point.) My advise: get the CD's so that you can listen to it over and over if necessary. If you have seen The Secret and you've read the Hicks material then this is the next step for you especially if you are looking for application. It is more concrete, easier to apply and a bit less spiritual. None of these works has ALL the answers, but combined and with other helpful material that you might or will come across, they do help move you along on your path. I definitely get (NOW) that in order for my affirmations or positive thoughts etc... to work, I've got to have the (ALWAYS)good feelings backing up what I'm thinking or saying. The notion is simple. It's just learning to apply it literally most of the time & everyday that is key to getting all that you want. This is explained in further detail in the book.
Interesting to note: Even before I listened to Excuse me, Your Life is Waiting, I did manifest a vehicle that I wanted. I didn't realize that I had done this until I came across Lynn's book. I guess the difference between getting the car and not anything else that I have wished for is the fact that I saw myself in the vehicle, had a good feeling about it and then I just completely let it go. Didn't even think about it. Everything else that I have wanted, I have wanted it so bad that I guess I mentally/emotionally pushed it away. I'm telling you this because Lynn's work helped me to distinguish how and what I was doing/thinking/feeling and I am now in the process of applying it elsewhere in my life. I hope that this helps and that it wasn't confusing.
Live well and be well.
Book Review: Grabhorn grabs you Summary: 5 StarsThe theory that Lynn Grabhorn expresses in this book is one I understand more than the Secret. Essentially they are both talking about the Law Of Attraction. This book however puts it more in a language that is easier to understand.
