Book Review: "I have returned with a stick!"- Still Laughing At This Book

Think of your favorite comedy routines, your Richard Pryor, your David Cross, your Bill Hicks. You know how every time there are certain jokes that just kill you, no matter how many times you've heard them? And the rest of the time, even if every joke doesn't hit home, you find yourself smiling because the delivery is so pro. That's very much the Foop! experience.
Except for with Foop! you also get monkeys. An almost obsessive amount of monkeys. Not that monkeys ever fail to amuse (my favorite is Malone the Hog Tying Monkey- who, by the way, is blind), but this Genoa guy might just have a clinical fixation.
The plot has just enough twists to keep your head spinning and the sci-fi elements here are mainly in the service of absurdity. For example, quantum mechanics is explained using an analogy involving hobos, taters, and donkeys. What I really enjoyed was how Genoa created this bizarre world with robots and dinosaurs and aliens but managed to keep the humor at the forefront. If you don't laugh or smile at least every three pages, well, you're probably reading the book on your way to a funeral.
And to the Amazon reader who complained about immature humor in the book- Stop being an elitist. Take another look at classics by Pynchon, Beckett, Bill Shakespeare, etc. See all the jokes about farting, erections, bad breath, etc.? It's called range. A fine writer and humorist (which Genoa certainly is) can hit you high and low with equal force.
I can't wait to see what this guy does next. But I'm willing to bet monkeys will be involved...
