Book Review: Every little girl needs this book!
Summary: 5 Stars
My only regret is that I can only give this book 5 stars, because it surely deserves at least 10! This is the sweetest story of a little girl that tries to reform her parents' "not so fancy" ways. My daughters love Nancy's fancy words and clothes, and I love the way the parents in the story embrace Nancy's personality and play right along with her. A wonderful story about values and family.
This is my three-year-old's new favorite book. My six-year-old loves it too, and has actually learned a lot of new vocabulary words due to Nancy's use of "fancy" words. This mom definitely gives two thumbs up on a well written and wonderfully illustrated book.

Every little girl is a Fancy Nancy deep down. This story lets her out! Who doesn't like boas and sparkles and flowers and glitter? This story explains it to the parents (and other grown ups in a little girl's life) so they can understand the difference between plain and fancy. My granddaughter (age five) loves this book because, like Nancy, the more ruffles, flourishes, and flounces an object has, the better she likes it. My elementary schoolteacher daughter loves this book because her fourth-graders' adverb and adjective vocabularies expand painlessly because reading this easy story is fun. I liked this book because Nancy's family is so middle class--not affluent, not deprived--and is so understanding of their little prima donna. The illustrations add a lot to the story, being realistic with just the right touch of whimsical pizazz.
