Book Reviews of Fight Club: A Novel

Book Review: A master piece
Summary: 5 Stars

Fight Club is one of my all time favorite movies, so I decided it would only be right for me to read the book. I was DEFINETLY not disappointed. The style in which this book is written is absolutly brilliant. It holds your attention and makes you wonder what's going to happen next (even if you have seen the movie). I'll never regret the day I picked up this book. I was blown away by everything about this book. I make everyone I know read this book...and I would recommend it to anyone.

Book Review: A masterpiece of unknown porportions.
Summary: 5 Stars

Once you read this book you will see the world as it truly is, a machine which controls everybody. The world which is run by corporations, is set through two individuals' eyes, and they are sick of it.They start a new system, with no control, and the ultimate freedom. Eventually the main character gets endangered in what he has created...without even knowing it.

If you want to still live your lives pretending you are happy with materialistic things, do not read this book. If you want to continue living pretending that you are unique and special, do not read this book, because once you read this book you must forget everything you know and let this book teach you what you are in this lifetime.

Book Review: A modern day classic
Summary: 5 Stars

Like everyone else, after watching Fight Club the movie i had to watch it again just to get everything. I bought the book mainly beacuse i loved the story by Chuck Palahniuk. I've read his other works (Survivor ect) and although they are good, they are lacking when compared to Fight Club. Also just beacuse you've seen the movie doesn't mean that you've got the entire story, the book gives you additional information that really explains certain aspects of the movie. If you haven't read the book, do so! it definatly worth owning

Book Review: A novel that holds up under repeated reading
Summary: 5 Stars

There aren't many books that I've read that I have enjoyed very much on a second read-through. i have read Fight Club, however, three times and have enjoyed it more each read through. The reason I think that it stands up so well is because past the plot, the book is dense with concepts and ideas. Many of these are missed on the first read through because the plot is so engrossing, but it allowes for a wonderfully enjoyable secan and even third experience. The only other novel I ever read that held up so wonderfully was We All Fall Down by Brian Caldwell. It was likewise dense with concepts and ideas in a way that made it a pleasure to read several times. As good as that novel is, though, i think Fight Club has suplanted it as my favorite novel.

Book Review: A perfect companion for the movie
Summary: 5 Stars

Having read the book first, I was very weary that this could actually be pulled off as a movie. I was wrong. The book itself is actually written in a very cinematic way. It moves at a lightning fast pace, has a lot of great dialogues, moves around a lot, and it has a lot of big, theatrical-like events. To say that the book is better than the movie is not necessarily true. They are both excellent in their own rights, although the book comes off slightly more enjoyable in my opinion. Either way, my suggestion is to read the book AND see the movie, both several times.
