Book Review: Learn your walking lines and arpeggios - it's easy

Unlike standard books that try to teach you jazz, rock, pop, and leave you with poor knowledge base at the end, Gary teaches you step-by-step about your fretboard. He explains chord patterns graphocally, and through exercises your fingers start to fall into right positions. It's fairly easy to expand your insight into different fingerboard positions using this method. And you will start playing all-over your neck without a lot of tedious scale-exercises. It's not for absolute beginners though.It's a book you need to comit to, and you want to get back to now and then. Linear approach means you need to do lesson-by-lesson without skipping (if you want to get there, ofcourse). In a week period I started to finally understand the concept of walking bass lines, so crutial to play jazz. If you are a jazz newbie, get this book!
I gave it four stars because CD is recorded with midi keyboards. I'd like to hear the real instruments instead. But that's really a minor flaw, and won't prevent you from learning the harmony.
