This book is like a breath of fresh air. It's nice to see a return to the basics, after all the slick, glossy, perfect computer-generated art and designwork we see everyday all around us. Fingerprint showcases graphic designers who use old-fashioned methods of printing and design for their creations - letterpress, stamping, embossing, screenprinting, origami, hand-lettering, recycling materials etc.
An excellent resource book for graphic designers and artists alike, eye candy for the casual observer. The objects showcased range from CD and record covers to skateboards, handmade greeting cards, posters, business cards, portfolios, wedding invitations, handmade journals, handbound books, magazines, etc etc!
My only gripe is that it's American; perhaps Chen Design Associates' next endeavour could encompass the wealth of design talent in Europe and Asia as well?
